Abstract

In contemporary political history, since the time of the constitution, the issue of women's presence in the society has become more concrete, and many poets, both men and women, have tended to discuss various political issues, including women's participation. Investigating mental schemas can help the people of any society to understand about themselves or others. By carefully examining these types of mental schemas, it is possible to better understand the reasons for the low presence of women in political arenas and find solutions. The present research has evaluated the political poems of male and female poets from the constitutional period until the end of Mohammadreza Pahlavi's reign and examined their mental schemas about women's political participation. The data of this descriptive-analytical research were analyzed by thematic analysis and the personal mental schemas of male poets (activeness and passiveness of women) and the mental schemas of female poets (from another perspective and from their own perspective). Investigation and conflicting and similar schemes were identified. The findings of the research show that most male poets have paid attention to the participation of women, including in the country's political affairs, and have always encouraged women to actively participate in the administration of the country's affairs. But female poets, while emphasizing the various social and political abilities of women, think and address women as weak and worthless from the eyes of men. It seems that the reason for the lack of political participation of women can be found in this factor.
